Rise Up Grant

& How it works

Notification of each grant cycle will be given with plenty of advance notice. Subscribe to our emails below and follow our Facebook page to be the first to know about upcoming application dates—don’t miss out!

One

Submit your application

To be considered for the grant, complete the online application form and submit a $25 entry fee. This fee helps us fund the grant pool and maintain an honest, sustainable selection process.

 

It also supports the operational costs that allow us the extended services to the recipient of each grant. By contributing this small fee, you're not only investing in your own journey — you're also helping us continue to uplift and empower other emerging entrepreneurs through a community-centered model.

 

We want to hear your story—who you are, what your idea is, and why it matters. Speak from the heart. There are no perfect words, just your passion and purpose.

Internal review by our community panel

Our community panel begins reviewing applications as they come in and finalizes selections after the application term closes. We read every story, consider your 'why,' and look for authenticity, passion, and potential impact—not perfection. We carefully select our top five candidates, then choose one recipient to receive the grant. Because we take the time to give every submission the attention it deserves, we ask for your patience as we work through the review process.

Recipient Announcement

One recipient is selected and awarded funding to support their business idea or entrepreneurial journey. Recipient will be contacted directly via our @rise-up-grant email to ensure authenticity 

Four

How funds are distributed

At Rise Up, we value personal touches.  Depending on the recipient’s location, we’ll deliver funds in person whenever possible. If that isn’t feasible, we’ll coordinate directly with the recipient to ensure the funds are received smoothly.

 

If the winner is a minor, the check will be issued to their parent or guardian, who will manage the funds responsibly on their behalf. This ensures that every recipient gets the support they need in a way that works best for them. 

 

At Rise Up, it’s not just about the money—it’s about building relationships and empowering each entrepreneur on their unique journey.

Life after the grant

At Rise Up, we intentionally space out our grant cycles to ensure each recipient receives the time, attention, and support they truly deserve. It doesn’t stop after the grant! Once awarded, you will also receive personalized support to help you grow and sustain your business by providing:​

​

  • $1,000 in funding to support your business or idea

  • Spotlight features on our website and social platforms to celebrate your win and introduce you and your business (or idea) to our community

  • Option to choose:
     

    • ​1:1 session to help you create a website starter package, which includes two custom-designed pages and a 1-year paid Basic Premium Plan 
      OR​

    • A $100 VistaPrint credit to use toward marketing materials or branding
